Peter Pan- "The best there ever was!"

"All children, except one, grow up." Something about the cleverness of he, his adventurous ways, and the sacrifices he makes, brings Peter Pan close to one's heart. Peter Pan is a mischievous boy who never ages, can fly, and has fairies for friends. Peter ran away when he heard his mother and father talking of what he was to be when he became a man. He flew away from home and took up residence in Kensington Gardens where he befriended Tinker Bell, a fairy. He is also the leader of the Lost Boys, a group of "children who fall out of their perambulators when the nurse is looking the other way. If they are not claimed in seven days they are sent to the Neverland to defray expenses." (Barrie 32). The Neverland is a small island where only the most adventurous child would ever dare go, and where the meanest pirates, the sweetest fairies, the kindest of Indians, and the rudest mermaids venture and cause havoc.

I'm currently reading J.M. Barrie's novel Peter Pan, also known as The Boy Who Wouldn't Grow Up. Even though I'm only a few chapters in, it's probably one of the best I've read. It has a really rich language, as the setting is England, and it makes it hard to read, but a challenging book is a great book. J.M. Barrie is a really great author judging from this book. As soon as I'm finished, I'm going to see where they sell his book The Little White Bird, where an excerpt of "Peter Pan in Kensigton Gardens" was originally published. The Little White Bird is a collection of young adult short stories varying from fantasy to whimsical tales. Another thing I like about the book, are the lines I love so much. These are some of my favorites:

"To die would be an awfully big adventure."
"Never is an awfully long time."
"All the world is made of is faith, trust, and pixie dust."
"To live would be an awfully big adventure."
"I do believe in fairies! I do! I do!"
"Never say goodbye, because goodbye means going away, and going away means forgetting."
-J.M. Barrie, Peter Pan

Peter Pan has touched the lives of many people, including mine. Peter also influenced so many things that you see in everyday life that you may have never noticed. Jacqueline Emerson, who plays Foxface in the Hunger Games movie, wrote and sang a song about Peter Pan. Disney characters and attraction have been made as well as a statue that was made in none other than Kensington Gardens. Also, one of my favorite films, Peter Pan (2003) was made thanks to J.M. Barrie who made the boy who just wouldn't grow up real.

History of braids

There is so many good hairstyles, but I've been interested in braids lately. I've always wanted to know the history of braids so i looked it up. I found out braiding has been around since 4000 B.C. ,weird how people braided hair that long ago.

 Fun facts
For french braids they were use to be called french plaits. There is 100's of braids now it's like it's named after a lot of countries: Dutch braid,Swiss braid and more. It's a common hairstyle in every country almost. In the U.S. Indians had braids to prepare for war. There's even people who are professional hair braiders just alone you have to get a cosmetology licences. There is way more facts. I just love braids, I hope I can become a professional a braiding one day.

Noodles 8- Eating Contest

Well I already wrote 7 posts about noodles. For me that is not a good number so i have decided to write an 8th post about noodles. Well the only other thing I think about besides about noodles is the WORLD famous chubby ASIAN bird. That is when I thought about NOODLE eating contests!

Personally I think NOODLE eating contests are amazing! They always find a way to lighten up my mood. Some people think its gross, but that is a load of "chubby ASIAN bird". Noodle eating contests bring out the best of food eating contests. Like this one video...

This noodle eating contest was held at Houston Asian-Pacific American Heritage Association Festival / Houston Dragon Boat Festival. This video was one of the very first ones I found. At first this video is boring, but towards the end it gets really funny. The third guy from the end eats the noodles with his HANDS! But he still manages to win. :D

This next video is really funny. This video is the one on top. Because there is a mixture of both Asian's and others... There is these two little girls that join in on the fun to. Can they handle the cup of noodles or will they fail and be eaten by a chubby Asian bird. Well you just have to find out.

You could check out more noodle videos on you tube. But this photo is a clue to my next post. Well this is chubby ASIAN bird.... Until our next noodle journey

Waste of Money

money by 401K
money, a photo by 401K on Flickr.
United States is in a lot of debt. We owe money to who knows how many countries now. A lot of people blame Hispanics for it but we aren't the problem. We waste a lot of money on a lot of useless things.

People say that those who don't have their papers to be in this country are the problem . We get blamed for the money crisis we are in. Money is wasted on a lot of things that could be used to benefit the US. Instead of wasting money on useless things why not put that money into good use. I'm sure the President doesn't need a big giant house, car, and plane. That job is overrated anyway. He doesn't get to dictate us.

Money is also wasted on other stuff like concerts for horrible musicians. Even for a giant rock exhibit. This big rock will be on exhibit in museum in LA and it will cost 10 million dollars to get there. 10 million dollars for a piece of rock! What a huge waste of money, resources, and time. We are living on a giant rock. We can see a giant rock at night in the sky for free! What more can you possibly want?

Movies also waste a lot of money. Don't get me wrong I like movies and enjoy watching them but it costs millions of dollars to make them. Can't they use special effects instead of making it for real like this car? That is a lot of gold on that car. How much money was spent on making it?

The United States has no money to spend and keep finding new ways to get into debt. Who is really to blame for this?

School year length: the great conundrum

The main problem in today's world is the school system and how it effects the development in the student's mental stability. Like the length of the school year; some debate that longer school years are better. This statement is most likely coming from adults. Other people such as the children say longer school days effect their learning rather than benefiting from it.

These kids are typically the kids who do not excel in school. Kids that do not excel, typically find some ways to blame it on someone or SOMETHING. This something has to do with the school system. In this case, the system has to do with the school year. How can the kids blame the school year when they need it the most? They use it as a scapegoat.

If longer school years are not the problem then what is? The simple problem is the shorter school years. The shorter school years are not better because these actually affect them. They actually lose knowledge in the summer.

Some people say kids could just study at home during the summer. But most of the time they are isolated and alone while studying. Whereas if you go to school year round, you could hang out with your friends and end up learning more.

Students should not blame their own needs on society's problem; the school years length. If you want to find out more about this great debate and the whole back story of this you could read the book Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell. Like my Science teacher back in middle school had always been saying," Do not be lazy, read a book."

Who Is Really To Blame?

In English class, were were debating about who is really to blame for bad behavior, the child or the parent. When children are born, they are taught to be good, but how can a child learn when their parents are constantly messing up in front of them.
When a parent cusses in front of their child, especially a younger one, or constantly doesn't show them any love or compassion, the child thinks that that is the correct way to behave. studies show that many people in gangs or in jail grew up with one parent who wasn't eligible to take care of them the way that they needed to be taken care of.
Parents are very important in a child's life. They give them the foundation for their own life, and when a parent is a bad influence, it gives the kid the wrong impression when he or she goes off into the world. I think that kids are unfairly blamed for being naughty because they were brought up wrong. The kids do make their own decisions that the parents don't make for them, but when the kids are brought up incorrectly and without love, it makes them feel like it okay for them to act out and behave incorrectly.
Children are defined by their parents. They model after them, and if you are a bad, unloving, and selfish parent, then your child will end up like you. And the parents in denial might not think that is a bad thing, but it is.
People make stupid mistakes when parenting. Teen pregnancies for example. They think that abortion is the right answer, but what is killing an innocent baby who you at least owe their life to going to do? Nothing. What is being a terrible parent going to do. Not much to you, but it will severely mess up your child.
Children are not to blame for their wrong up-bringing. They act out due to how they were raised. Parents need to either take responsibility and take the right care of their children, or just be safe and stay away from any possibilities that can make you have a baby when you aren't ready. Pre ready and teen pregnancies are 100 percent preventable.

Obama should not be blamed for things he couldn't change

Some people blame the bad economy on President Obama.  Almost everyone says that Obama hasn't done enough to help America, but in reality there is only so much he can do as the President.

As President Obama can barely do anything without the approval of Congress, The economy's blame should fall upon Congress. Because Obama is the President  he is the model for the united states so every thing bad gets blamed on him.

Obama has been blamed unfairly for the bad economy. He may have had some things to do with it. He should not have to take all of the blame for others mistakes.

Here is another article saying Obama shouldn't take all the blame so you don't have to take it from a 14 year old.

To think I thought Egyptian tales were entertaining.

One thing that bothers millions of people in the world is the act of abortion. In my opinion, abortion is totally wrong and that should never be an option for a woman carrying a child. Most people, hopefully, are against it and won't ever let that be an option, because truly, there are quite a few options. One group of people who get blamed a lot for abortion is mothers' themselves who choose this form of death to their child. True, indeed, but has anyone ever really blamed the sicko who created it? I don't think so because no one is really sure of what era it was first introduced.

The first known record of abortion dates back Egypt, 1550 BCE. They used herbal remedies that did bad things to the fetus and next thing you know it, the baby is dead. I think that people are just using pregnant woman who think abortion is an option as a scapegoat because they never really studied up and traced the roots back to where it originated. Apparently, some female got abortions because they weren't wed yet and they didn't want to ruin their families reputations. I think that is the most idiotic thing ever.

To anyone who's ever seen Family Guy's Season 5 Episode 12: Airport '07, where this skit "Prom Night Dumpster Baby" was shown, then you know that the girl had enough class to let the baby live. Yes, I know that episode is wrong, but throwing your child in the trash is getting off topic. I mean come on, if you didn't want a child, you shouldn't have tried to have a child in the first place. It's so disgusting and inhumane and I don't think that all woman should be blamed because not all will do that. Besides keeping your own child, there's adoption, and most woman would do that if they could not manage a child, which I can sort of understand.

The history of abortion states very clearly that Egyptians were the first recorded to have the form of abortion done. It's their fault, not every single female in the world's fault. Not everyone chose to ruin what could be a beautiful child's life.

society

Why would people just blame others for something they never did? People try to scapegoat from a lot of things like high gas prices, obesity, and lots more. The one I don't agree with is "society is to blame for crimes of youth".

I think people shouldn't blame society for every single thing, especially crimes of youth. One ,I think it's their (teens) parents fault for not telling them what's right from wrong. It's common sense for the parents to tell their child don't do anything stupid or anything you'll regret. Two, whatever the teen did they should have thought about it before they did the action. I usually don't think before I say something, but when it's a major decision I think to myself will this help me?  Also isn't the society like almost everyone so your basically blaming yourself. There's many articles about it but one caught my eye. I'll end with you should'nt really blame anyone if you don't have evidence!

What Gives Me Nightmares!

The gym. Supposed to be a place to work out, get back in shape, and a place to work on yourself. For me, that is hard because next to me is a sweaty lady who has a size shirt too small. Sweat to me is is very disgusting and disturbing.

When you sweat, it produces off a smell that is not so pleasant for other people tolerate. There are showers at the gym for a reason. In 1888, an unknown Philadelphia scientist created an antiperspirant. The technology of the deodorant has improved to keep you smelling fresh all day. When you go to the gym, I understand that you work hard and get sweaty, but you need to take precautions because when other people go to the gym, they don't want to smell you.

Deodorant is a must. Just like underwear and soap, everybody needs deodorant! The thought of smelling that way is bad for others, but i could never imagine how someone could constantly walk around and smell that terrible smell of their own body odor and be okay with it. Sources say that body odor is present both in animals and humans, but humans have the kind that has the strong scent. And if animals ever smell like the ones that don't wear deodorant, you bet that I will be putting deodorant on my puppy.
Smell good, or go home!

WHAT?!?!

Most people who have been in an airplane bathroom would all say," That was the most crowded restroom ever"(Noodles 38). When I used their restroom it was so crowded I felt like I was a chubby Asian Bird inside a cup of noodles. If you have not used the airplane restroom, then you are lucky. I find the whole thing very disturbing.

The restrooms usually contain a small toilet that is compacted right next to a small sink. And if you are really unlucky, in the toilet you might find some left over POOPY. No matter what it, it is still going to smell. I find it very disturbing to do your business in such a smelly, compacted area.

If you really have to go, HOLD IT! When you are either doing number 1, 2, or 3, you will, no matter what feel a very strong turbulence. When I was on the airplane my head was shaking so much I almost fell. After you flush you usually hear this loud sound that makes you feel like you are swirling. That is really weird having to do your business with a strong turbulence, and having it flushed by a heavy sound.

If you find that weird, than you are going to find this even weirder. An Indian woman left her newborn baby in the toilet! The worst part about it she was studying to be a doctor. After all of this she just walked of the plane without a doubt in her mind. She was arrested of course; I find this story really disturbing. If you want to learn more you could visit the website here.

As you can see Airplane restrooms are very disturbing and should not be trifled with. I wish a chubby Asian bird would come down and eat them all up...

Knees Disturb Me, True Story

I don't know why, but for the longest time I've had a phobia of knees. Like, seriously, knees disturb me and they're my least favorite body part. Maybe it has something to do with not one, but both of my knees dislocating. In the summer of 2010, I was just minding my own business, walking back into my grandma's house after an afternoon of blissful swimming, when boom, my knee does some weird Matrix move and I'm on the ground with my right knee cap out of place. One of the most scariest things that ever happened and one of the the weirdest because I had to go to the hospital in my bathing suit which was highly awkward.

That moment, of course, was not the worst. The next summer, I'm at the beach, enjoying that disgusting Californian water, when yet again, my knee dislocates- this time my left knee. If you were wondering, yes, I did go to the hospital in my bathing suit for a second time. Such a joyous moment in my life. Anyone, I just find knees SO disturbing and creepy. Plus, they are really ugly to me and I just shudder when someone bangs up their knee, like ew. I seriously hate them and I hate the accessories I have to wear to prevent them from dislocating again. I had to wear a full leg brace like the one in the picture above and it was so embarrassing and bulky.

Last year, to prevent another dislocation, my mother insisted I wear smaller knee braces every second of the day. Thanks Mom. I so cleverly kept the dreaded device hidden under my jeans until the worst hour of the day came- Physical Education. So, the braces were exposed. So this one girl saw I was wearing them and came up to me with this creepy grin on her face saying "Wanna see something cool?" All I could think of was "Yeah, um, no thanks. Maybe next time," when she popped her knee out and popped it back in. It was so disgusting!

I also did some research, and I found out knee dislocations are pretty rare. Which means I'm special, haha, yeah, no. Since this has occurred to me personally twice, I know it's very painful, your knee grows three times larger out of swellings, and it usually occurs after a major incident. I had no major incidents before my knee dislocations unless you count swimming as a major event. What I think happened is that the water somehow softened up my ligaments so that the tissue was too weak to keep my knee steady. No matter the reason, knees will always disturb me and I hate living in fear that my knees will dislocate again, because if that happens, I'll have to get surgery. Knees are just disturbing.

Disturbing Stalkers

Nokia storefront by niallkennedy
Nokia storefront, a photo by niallkennedy on Flickr.

Technology is advancing and I think we are becoming more like robots and unnatural beings.

The phone company Nokia wants to patent a tattoo. The idea is that you get a tattoo and that tattoo will vibrate when your phone gets alerts like calls, texts, alarms and other stuff. Pictures show that it could go on your fingernail, abdomen, to your arm. I don't know what it is but it seems disturbing. It's fake and artificial. It's not very natural. It might submit us into something that it is not good. I guess I'm just paranoid that this idea could go very wrong.

I think that Nokia could somehow track us with this tattoo and will know our every step and every place we go to like a stalker. I have the crazy idea that if power went to their heads they could control us if they wanted to. Or the very least prank us by having the tattoo vibrate when our phone didn't get an alert. I got to admit that would be really funny if it says, "You have a call from Hugh E. Butt." Those funny Nokia people.

I've also heard about a chip that could be implanted into you and could identify you. That makes it easier for people like the government to track you and monitor you. That is a huge invasion privacy. What are humans like dogs now that we need doggy tags?

I don't want to be tagged and identified all the time. It makes me feel like a product. What if something goes wrong and this backfires? What if this somehow this submits us to them and we have to do everything what these companies and government tell us to do. If we get this tattoo or chip they can have power over a lot people and we would be their property. If this is the beginning, what is next? Are we going to have like a little electronic screen on our hand that says who we are and what we have done? Will we be forced to get a tattoo on our arm that has stuff like our name, where we live, and personal stuff like race or religion? Will we have a bar-code on our bodies that machines could scan? I'm probably just being paranoid.

Disturbing

By Dricker94
The thing I find disturbing is other people finding something disturbing. What I am saying is if you find dirty floors disturbing I find that disturbing of you. I mean dirty floors are gross and what not ,but its those things that make others calm and happy.  So what I am really trying to say is finding something that disrupts something else makes me disturbed.

Another example is when the disrupting part of life is free time. That to others means your messed up. It also means to me that the work of your life is fun and fulfilling. It disturbs them when another person believes that work is the meaning of life and nothing in between will fill that void. But That also is to say that you need work in your life and life is work its a real piece of work and if that is what makes your life undisturbed then so be it.

The picture shows how one thing disturbs another. It is a matter of opinion on whats disturbing and whats not. Disturbing is something that's disturbed and the thing that is making us disturbed is other people because were fine until other people come along and think something is disturbing and that messes up or DISTURBS the balance in your life.

Golden Rule

By Burkazoid
This rule is important, not just because its in the bible but its fully true. If someone acts mean to you its most likely you will be rude back.

From reading other withing about the golden rule was only adopted by different religions throughout the centuries.

The reason for this physiological term is so that the people of the world will  be nice and loving to every one to make a nice place on earth.

I belie in this rule not just because of my religion but because of how true it is.

When will it all end?

I just get really, really annoyed when people on the news say stuff like this a sign of the world ending. Even when others say the world going to end on a specific date and time.

Like last year people thought world would end on May 11, 2011 because "there's proof from the bible". First nobody will ever know when the world is going to end!! Second who would just pop into their heads oh the world is going to end on __? Third how do they convince people to believe its going to end on such and so date. I'm just saying nobody will ever know what date and time the world will end. Their just going to be prepared to go to a place for eternity!!

The Unwritten Rules of Being the Youngest

Sibling! by Gus Dahlberg
Sibling!, a photo by Gus Dahlberg on Flickr.

I'm pretty sure that is how my siblings felt when they found out they were having a baby brother. There a are a couple of rules that siblings and parents use on the youngest kid.

The older ones get to pick on you. They know you are smaller than them so they can control you. When I was younger I always believed what my brother said. He told me some really dumb stuff but I guess he had that kind of authority and face that made me believe him. One of my sisters is really bossy and she is always bossing me around. A lot of times I listen to her but lately I have been resisting. Now she bribes me with money. They also beat you up and give you noogies. They tickle and beat me up so I am screaming and laughing at the same time. The others just sit and watch.

Your siblings always tell you how easy you have had it. They tell you how they didn't have cellphones when they were growing up. They tell you stories of how mom would make them eat stuff they didn't like such as chicken soup and chow mein. They also tell you that she made you eat all your vegetables. They say that they couldn't watch all those TV shows when they were my age.

You are supposedly the spoiled one. Maybe its because your parents already have kids so they know what not to do. Maybe your siblings say that because they don't like that you are now in the limelight. Maybe because you are the last kid and they don't want you to grow up. They aren't ready for the last kid to grow up.

It kind of sucks to be last one.

the unwritten rules of video games

In video games there are a few thing that thy don't tell you up front. These are the unwritten rules.

1st unwritten rule is that someone is going to be better than you if you play online but if you play offline the computers still put out there best and it's pretty tough

2nd is that it is suppose to take time so if you have to go in a hurry play a card game or something.

3rd is games get boring so switch it up every so often because the most entertaining game can be boring

4th never ignore doing something else the video games are cool but it not that important to procrastinate  something else over.

5th and final the story line of the game is the best part

The Unwritten Rules of Niceness

So, there are many rules in life. One subject that has a lot of rules, is the art of being nice! I love to be nice, it's fun! Sometimes, though, during bad days and/or times, I'm not very nice. Lately, I've been quite mean because it's been a rough few weeks. I know, though, that there are a couple rules to niceness that aren't written, you just already assume them and follow along with what your thoughts say.

Flaws are Flaws
Like Taylor Swift once said in her song "Mean", "You, have pointed out my flaws again as if I don't already see them..." One thing I hate, if not the most, is when people call out other peoples' flaws. Like, seriously, thanks for informing me that my hair looks stupid, now go take a hike, with "your words like knives and swords and weapons that you use against me" (Swift, "Mean"). It's rude because people didn't choose to have the features people call "ugly", God just granted it to them, and they should feel happy with it, because as I've heard more than enough times, perfect things don't exist. Not pointing out flaws is unwritten because people who want to be nice, and are nice, just don't naturally do that. Nice people point out the good things about you, like flaws, because those are just as perfect. So for now on, go laugh at gilded butterflies, not humans.

Help one when help is needed
Helping people is a huge step towards niceness. Well, because, it's just nice. If you see someone struggling, some tend to help out of instinct. Others usually just sit and watch. Do you know what they call people who help those in need? Nice! Helping out is usually something you just do because you're just used to being helpful. Also, it's unwritten because there shouldn't be a literal rule that states to help, because then that's not being nice, it's just following orders. Following orders isn't fun, and fun doesn't lead to becoming nice, it leads to becoming mean.

Be friends with equally nice people
Friends are awesome, truly, but nice friends are even more awesome. Being friends with a person who is super nice will help you to become just as equally nice, because niceness is contagious. I have a friend, the most bubbliest, happiest, nicest person I've probably ever known. Her niceness has rubbed off on me in a great way, because I want to be just as spontaneous as she. I think reading books gets you prepped up for looking for friends because you see a lot of scenarios the characters go through with friends and people they associate with. Seeing how people act in books can help you figure out what character a person could be like in real life, based on their actions. So read! Reading is also nice.

Now go out and be nice, kiddo!

The unwritten rules of.... NOODLES

Noodles... What else would I write about? Not just noodles, but Cup of noodles. The cup of noodles is both delicious and affordable. Eating it is like eating a 5 star meal. Well that’s my on personal opinion. Know if you are going to eat cup of noodles in public, you are going to have to follow these simple rules.

The soup
Normally everyone thinks you should eat the soup, but NO ONE does. It is like that rule everyone sort of just follows. Personally I think the soup is just there to give the noodles a sense of taste.

The actual cooking time
When I eat noodles, I normally eat in less than 3 minutes. Just like the amount of time it supposedly takes to cook. But that statement is clearly wrong. It takes 3 minutes for the actual noodle to cook. But you have to boil the water, and that takes about 5 more minutes. So all together it takes 8 minutes.

How you act
I hate when people take their time to eat. Just eat and get it over it. I act like a beast when eating noodles. Sometimes I feel like I am a Chubby Asian Bird. In my opinion you should act like a Chubby Asian Bird whenever eating cup of noodles.

What to eat with it
Normally I eat cup of noodles with kool-aid. If I am out of it I just drink water. Along with my beverage I might eat it with American toast, or if it is in season Chubby Asian Bird.

How to eat it
Most people (people that are not Asian) eat the cup of noodles with a fork. You should definitely if you have it, eat it with chopsticks. That is how I picture the cup of noodles being eaten. If you have chopsticks and still eat it with a fork, then you should be eaten by a Chubby Asian Bird.

Follow these rules and you will be successful and not get eaten by a Chubby Asian Bird.
Quick note..... How many Chubby Asian Birds did you spot on this post? Guess right and not get eaten by a Chubby Asian Bird....
