Sixteen year old Katniss Everdeen lives in a country called Panem, where North America once existed. Each year two kids from the twelve districts of Panem are forced to fight to the death in a televised event called the Hunger Games. Now Katniss is one of the twenty four tributes who will fight for their lives.
That is what the book The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins is basically about. The book has two sequels called Catching Fire and Mockingjay that follow the sad life of Katniss and her fellow District 12 partner Peeta. The book has also inspired a movie that will come out next March.
The books have everything a reader could want. It has adventure, death, and sorrow with a lot of unexpected twists. It can also make you reflect on your own life and think of their situation and your situation.
It's also a good book if you like characters with weird and idiotic names. I mean who in their right mind would name their freaking kid Peeta?

ReplyDeleteI love The Hunger Games! I also like how there is a little bit of everything varying from romance to adventure. By far one of the best series I've ever read.
ReplyDeleteI am firmly convinced that it is NO coincidence that the baker boy is named "Peeta." That's like a toilet maker naming his son "John." Peeta's parents definitely had a sense of humor.

ReplyDeleteIt's an easy book to read. You just have to keep up with these new terms in the Hunger Games Universe that are used a lot in the trilogy.
