The Origins of Valentines Day

Valentines Day seems like a nice cheerful holiday where people tell each other how much they care for them. It's looks like a nice holiday but in reality, Valentines Day is a dark sinister holiday.

You see guys getting getting cards, chocolate, and flowers for their sweethearts and they don't realize they are being pulled into a trap. Apparently chocolate companies think they haven't made enough money on other holidays and think they need to make another holiday to sell. They know guys will need a last minute gift so they sell their chocolate or flowers or whatever. If guys don't get something for their honey, then they are in the dog house.

That is sad. Forcing another holiday on people so they can sell their stuff. You also never see the guy get a gift on this day, it's always the girl. This isn't Mothers Day! Valentines Day should go both ways!

And since when do you need a day to tell someone how much you care for them? Shouldn't that be all year? It's like saying, " I love you so much today, but not any other day because I never get you anything! Haha Happy Valentines Day!"

This dark day is really a day for hypocrites who don't really care for anyone else. A day created by greedy companies and business people.

Got a secret, can you keep it?

Pretty Little Liars is a book series turned amazing television show. The book/show focuses on secrets, lies, and betrayal. Set in Rosewood, Pennsylvania, you see the world through Spencer Hastings, Aria Montgomery, Emily Fields, and Hanna Marin's point of view.

These four totally different girls were brught together in eighth grade by one girl- Alison DiLaurentis, the popular one and their clique leader. Together, they were inseparable- until Alison goes missing. A year after Ali's disappearance, it's still a mystery to the town and to the girls. They fell out of touch a while after Ali is gone, she was the one who made them friends after all.

That changes, of course. They are brought together again when an anonymous figures, who is called "A", starts contacting them. "A" texts the girls through an unknown number- threatening them with the secrets they've never dared tell anyone else besides Alison, who they told everything to. They believe it's actually Alison at first, but that was before her body was found. Someone else had found out their secrets.

"A" knows everything, and I mean everything. He/ she is always watching the girls. Whom "A" is, and what happened to Alison still remains a mystery, for the show is still in it's second season. Many who have read the series, have found out who A is in the books, but the producers of the show stated it will not end like the books had. Just remember, "Never trust a pretty girl with an ugly secret."

noodle apps

One day, while I was looking at the app store from apple, I found a whole bunch of noodle apps. So I clicked on it and found several apps. It was amazing. I did not know there was a such thing as noodle apps.

One noodle app is called Cup Noodle Timer. This noodle app is very self explanatory. All you have to do is set the timer and press go. The noodle timer will ring and your will have your noodles in no time. This app will cost nothing at all.

Another app is actually a recipe app called Noodle College: Ramen Noodle Cook Book. If you ever crave for noodles, this is the app for you. It is a book full of noodle recipes, mostly for college students. This noodle app is only for a high price of 1.99.

This app in my opinion is the funniest noodle app in the market. it is called the Noodle princess app. This app is about a classic fairy tale. It includes a noodle contest and whoever wins will get a crown of Macaroni. This is all I can say now. But, if you want to buy this weird app it is only for 3.99.

If you want to find more apps like these, you can go to the app store. I am positive, that you would be able to find interesting apps. As you can see, noodles can be apps too.

The West Memphis Three

In 1993, three boys: Steve Branch, Michael Moore, and Christopher Byers, were murdered in the Robin Hood Hills in West Memphis. Later, the West Memphis police department arrested 3 boys: Damien Echols, Jason Baldwin, and Jesse Misskelley who soon became known as the West Memphis 3.

And in 1996 HBO created a documentary called Paradise Lost: The Child Murders at Robin Hood Hills which interviewed the three accused boys, the victims families, and the people involved in the case, such as the attorneys, and the ones working on what happened.
The producers of Paradise Lost then over the coarse of 18 years made Paradise Lost 2: Revelations and Paradise Lost 3: Purgatory. These films made a lot of impact not only in the case but in society.
People started to realize that these boys were innocent. Celebrities such as Johnny Depp, Natalie Maines, and Metallica started to speak publicly about the case. And really use their advantage to get these innocent men out of jail.
But all bad didn't come out of the citation. Damien Echols met his wife, Lorri Echols, and got married. And in August of 2011, 18 years in the penitentiary, Damien, Jason, and Jesse were free.
They entered an Alford pleas which made them say they were guilty even when innocent. Justice was not served and they will still try to clear their names but now they can do it outside jail.

Being your self or someone else (speak journal 3)

Ask yourself, what am I like am I being me or am I being someone or something else and if I want to be that thing or my own self? This is a good question to ask yourself so you as a person and as a human can be what you want to be.

I personally can relate to not being myself. The reason being is that I as myself can act as what I need to be or want to be. what I think most people do is act like some one they aren't so they can fit in or not stand out in the crowd. You can decide if that is a good thing or a bad thing.

Why people act or be there self is because they don't care or they do care what others think about them.
The way they do care is if they are alright with it being them self and care about what others think of them. You can also decide if that's good or bad.

Gum

So there is a lot of talk about the whole chewing gum being good or bad for you and how chewing gum is just to get flavor out of it. In my opinion, I think chewing gum can be a good thing for you. I found a website called Chewing gum and read some interesting things about chewing gum.

Most people think that chewing gum is just used for its flavor and is only for teens. When in fact, chewing gum has dated back over 5 thousand years ago. A lot of people used chewing gum such as Yli-Li Finland. They used them for having antiseptic properties and other medical advantages.

However, we never knew if the gum could cure gum disease or not. But in present day, we have a more firm grasp on weather or not gum is good for you or not. Most gums are not good for you. But, some can actually help you as long as you use the right kind of sweetness.

Some of the good kinds are xylitol, and sorbitol. Xylitol sweet can help your teeth. As long as you use one of these kind of sweeteners, then chewing gum will be fine to chew. As you can see, chewing gum can also be very beneficial to you.

AWESOME PEOPLE SUCK! (speak journal)

Stab by simaom
Stab, a photo by simaom on Flickr.

People sometimes don’t like others because they excel in something. They can be mean or cruel to the awesome people. It’s because they are actually jealous of that person. People don’t like those who are better than them. They do not like how they’re treated better or get special treatment. They wish they were treated the same. (I guess that's why I am treated like that :] )

It hurts that they are not number one. It’s like your parents had a baby and all of a sudden you feel forgotten. With people who are better you are saying, "Wow that is awesome, you did a good job on that, gold star for you!" On the inside you are really thinking," I wish you fall down a cliff, I’m going to break your legs, I will rip your face open and splatter your brains on the floor, I WILL STAB YOUR FACE!"

It’s not fair to the awesome person; all they did wrong was work hard to be their best. Adults are not different at all. There’s an employee of the month award or a better job, and someone else has it. Poor awesome people(me), they get all the hate.

Speak Journal #2

In the book Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson, finding your voice is one of the morals of the story, as well as free speech. What does free speech mean to me? To me, it's being able to say whatever it is that's on your mind. The ability to not let let others' judgement stand in the way of your own opinions and beliefs'.
If you have something to say, don't let it go unheard.  Silence isn't always golden.

I think that if it doesn't seriously harm another person, you shouldn't get in trouble for saying it and should have that right. In the book, a student named David Petrakis expresses what's on his mind into words, outshining  his history teacher lecture on how immigrants are taking all the jobs aaway from the people who deserve them- Americans. David must have felt Mr.  Neck had no authority when saying what he said, thus giving David an urge to speak and fight back. I think he said what he needed to get across.

speak journal 1

In the book speak by laurie halse anderson melinda saying things in her mind, in one part she's saying she wants to hate a girl. She actually liked her instead.

I think people dislike athletic, talented, and smart people because their jealous. I mean it's fair to them, because they probably worked hard to be good at what they do.

It's unfair to the one who aren't good at anything feel like nobodys. Also the teachers shouldn't give them to much praise, praise because it makes (pros) feel cocky and prideful.

I don't see that many adults being jealous mostly famous athlete, actors, singers. Seriouly nobody should be jealous of anyone just because there talented. If you really want to be good just practice at what your not good at!!!

My Whole World

This is a chiweenie. It is a mix between a wiener dog and a chiwawa. I have one named Hiny and he is everything to me. He is a year old and his birthday is on September 6th. He makes me so happy. It seems like he has a 6th sense and that's making someone feel better when they are sad. And everyday he wakes up with me and goes to sleep with me.
When I think of pet, I think of a dog. I had always had family dogs, but last year around my dad's birthday, we went to visit my uncle, and his neighbor, who my mom had known for a while, was breeding them and offered to give us one for only $50. So I convinced my mom and took it home. It didn't go well with my dad but he let him stay.
I think pets are great friends. They always listen, and somehow i think they have sympathy. They have the power to make you happy even when you are in the worst mood. And I know that my puppy is my world. I even got a diamond and gold neck less of a chiweenie. It just shows the crazy things we do and feel for the ones we love.

Graffiti my definition of it is probably art work on places its usually not suppose to be on!! I don't know any Graffities if that's what they call them?

I just want to ask them what's their inspirationfor doing this kind of work? Do you know what it means or the origin of graffiti? I looked it up, graffiti came from graffito which means scratched in italian. Also the earliest graffiti was way back in 30,000 b.c. If you want to learn more go to.

This specific art stood out because who would graffiti a panda?
I just love pandas and how their so chubby. Also how they used a metaphor.

Eiffel Tower

This is the Eiffel Tower, but most importantly it's the Eiffel Tower at night. I have always wanted to visit Paris, France for the fashion, culture, and historical sights. I think the Eiffel Tower would probably be the best part because to me it's beautiful. At night, when it is lit like in the picture above, it must be enchanting.

The Eiffer Tower is located in Paris, France and was made in 1887 and finished in 1889. It was the tallest structure in the world from 1889 to 1930. It is nicknamed "La dame de fer", or the Iron Lady. To me, it is one of the most magnificent structures in the world, next to the Ancient Greek architectures and the Sphinx of Giza.

The Angry Face

Today has been a very crappy day, especially with this post.

First of all, some people have been very uncooperative today. They don't tell me things and have been very rude. I think people should be nicer since one of my resolutions I have been working on is being nicer.

Second of all, putting this dumb, ugly, picture on this post took forever to do. I had no idea how to put this picture in all the folders, desktops, and all that stuff. The help I got quickly left my big, smart, brain. As if it was stuff I was already supposed to know. It was like someone was speaking to me in Chinese. Bad Chinese.

Third, I lost my phone earlier this week. So its been difficult getting information around this past week. That thing had a bunch of stuff on it like messages, people's info, alarms, and a bunch of little gadgets on it. I also lost everyone's phone numbers. Some people I don't ever see anymore. Hopefully when I get my new phone it will have all the numbers and stuff back. I really doubt it though.

Now I have to write about all the stuff that makes me mad right now. That sucks. This is the best writing assignment ever. What a crappy day. Now I need a cold glass of milk.

This picture is from cheerfulmonk.

noodles 2

Noodles, they are life in everyone on earth. They're healthy, yet a favorite to everyone. They are located
everywhere.

On my last blog, I talked about the origins of noodles. This time, I am going to talk about noodle shops.

One famous shop is a noodle shop in Hong Kong called Mak man kee noodle shop. They are most famous for their wonton noodles. The noodles is said to have a light crunch and is very springy.

Another noodle shop is called noodles etc. This noodle shop is located around the area of Hyde Park. They are the only noodle shop in that area who have considered putting an online ordering service.

As you can see noodles are very good for us.

New Year, New Me

Most people's new years resolution is to loose weight or stop smoking, but mine was different. Many things have happened in my life, and when the new year came around I decided not to let it bother me anymore. I needed a fresh start.

With the concept of new in mind, I let go. I let go of my past. Every bad thing that happened to me. I realized the reality of it all. That constantly thinking about those things in my past made me a negative person. It made me hate what had happened.

I know look at it as an oppertunity that that memory gave me to grow and become a stronger and better person.

This new year is going to be one for me. You can get passed anything with the right kind oflove and support. You just have to find you inspiration for letting it go.

New Years Resolutions

Why do we have new years resolutions While researching I came upon another blog http://www.chevroncars.com/learn/holidays-seasons/new-years-resolutions  that said the dictionary stated that the Babylonians started the resolution tradition.

Why do we only make new years resolutions on new years. Why not every month the reason i say every month is because most people break the resolution in a few weeks or months so to solve that delema make a new resolution each month.

My new year's goal

At first, I tried to do a new year's resolution, but I always end up not fulfilling them. So instead I decided to make a new year's goal.

I play the tenor saxophone; so my new year's goal is to practice 30 minutes more than I used to. Last year I practiced at least 45 minutes everyday.

So this year I am planning to practice 1 hour and 15 minutes. I am planning to do it consistently instead of skipping days like I did last year.

I also plan on keeping my instrument in tip top condition. I just got a new tenor saxophone and it is said to break easily. Last year, I broke my instrument a few times so this year I want to make sure to keep it in its current condition.
